Provisional Social ProgrammeSunday 12th September 2010 An informal reception will take place at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre. Monday 13th September 2010 The Opening Reception, supported by Glasgow City Council, will be held at Glasgow Science Centre where delegates will be free to interact with the hundreds of science exhibits and puzzles whilst networking with colleagues and taking in the panoramic views of the River Clyde. There will also be musical entertainment and refreshments.
Golf - We plan to organise golf at Western Gailes, which lies between Irvine Bay and the railway on Ayrshire's prodigious stretch of links coastline. Formed in 1897, the Club has hosted prestigious tournaments such as the 2007 European Men's Amateur Team Championship.
Golf club hire will be available. Cruising Loch Lomond - Lomond provides the focal point for Scotland’s first National Park and is well known for its natural beauty, history and tranquillity. Cruise the loch and take in the breathtaking scenery.
Other proposed afternoon sporting activities are a guided hill walk, and an organised run with prizes. A dinner will be held for ABC Fellows at Mar Hall, Erskine. Cost £82.50 per person. Thurday 16th September 2010
The Gala Dinner to be held at the magnificent Art Gallery and Museum, Kelvingrove. Kelvingrove first opened its doors to the public on 2 May 1901. It houses one of the finest civic collections in Europe and is an iconic Glasgow landmark. Dine amidst the splendour and history of the Art Gallery and Museum, Kelvingrove. Cost £82.50 per person. |
